Morton Salt Girl Paintings & Americana Art Prints

Some images become part of everyday visual memory. The Morton Salt Girl is one of those instantly recognisable American motifs, with an umbrella, a distinctive silhouette and a long history in popular design.

Laurence Kirwan revisits the subject through his own paintings and fine art prints, exploring the relationship between familiar commercial imagery and a contemporary painted surface. Browse the variations in composition, colour and scale to see how a well-known character can take on a new life as collectible artwork. This collection also connects naturally with the studio’s other studies of vintage cultural icons.
