The Stag’s Head: The central feature is a white-metal or silver stag's head with prominent antlers, a traditional heraldic symbol strongly tied to Clan Mackenzie.

The Motto Scroll: The scroll at the bottom reads "CUIDICH 'N RIGH", which translates from Scottish Gaelic to "Help the King" (or "Aid the King"). The Seaforth Highlanders historically carried the distinction of having the only Gaelic motto worn by a regiment in the British Army.

The Stag’s Head: Extracted directly from the family crest of George Gordon, the 5th Duke of Gordon (Marquis of Huntly). It features a distinct three-dimensional styling where the nose and antlers protrude boldly.

The Ivy Wreath: The surrounding rock ivy represents the traditional plant badge of Clan Gordon, symbolizing endurance and steadfast loyalty.

The Motto "BYDAND": Visible along the bottom ribbon, this is a Middle Scots term meaning "Steadfast" or "Abiding".

Headgear Design

Diced Band: The cap displays the signature checkered dicing pattern (traditionally combinations of red, white, and dark blue/green) typical of Scottish line infantry regiments.

Rosette Mounting: The white-metal badge is traditionally positioned over a circular black silk rosette/brocade backing on the left-hand side of the cap
